Bringing Character to Life: Virtues in Medicine

Bringing Character to Life: Virtues in Medicine is one of two publications in the Bringing Character to Life infographic series which highlighted the issues and pressures related to healthcare provisions during the coronavirus pandemic. Alongside the Bringing Character to Life: Virtues in Nursing, this publication led by Aidan Thompson and Andrew Maile, focusses on repackaging the Centre’s work on virtue in the professions with a medical focus. The aim of the series is to highlight the key messages from the research in a way that is accessible and easy to apply in practice – be it part of a continuing professional development programme or a personal goal to be more virtuous in the workplace. They have been collaboratively designed with leading practitioners in the respective fields of Business and Finance, Law, Teaching, Nursing and Medicine. Bringing Character to Life: Virtues in Nursing was written with Lorna Hollowood, Registered Adult Nurse and Lecturer in Nursing at the University of Birmingham, and is available to view here. Bringing Character to Life: Virtues in Medicine was written with Dr Felicity Corcoran, Consultant Anaesthetist, and is available to view here.
