Professor James Arthur has spent the past two months working at the Human Flourishing Programme since his appointment as Faculty Affiliate at Harvard University. As part of this appointment, James organised and led, alongside Tom Harrison and Tyler VanderWeele, a prestigious workshop on Character and Flourishing for the leading character education centres and organisations in the US. The workshop was run on the 14th and 15th March at the Harvard Faculty Club in Boston. The aim of the workshop was to promote collaboration and extend impact on character education and human flourishing research and practice. The discussions during the workshop focused on the interconnections between character education and human flourishing in schools, universities, the professions, and wider society. At the workshop, a select group of researchers and thought leaders distinguished in the field of character education and human flourishing, gathered to explore common research interests and left with ideas and actions that will extend collaborations in the field for years to come.
