18th November 2022Publications
On 18th November 2022, Aidan Thompson published a co-edited collection of chapters under the title Educating Character through the Arts.
The collection brings together the proceedings from the 2018 conference by the same name that the Jubilee Centre hosted in Birmingham. Containing contributions from keynote speakers and seminar presentations, the volume investigates the role of the arts in character education. Bringing together insights from esteemed philosophers and educationalists, it looks to the arts for insight into human character and explores the art’s relationship to human flourishing and the development of the virtues.
Edited with Dr Laura D’Olimpio (Birmingham) and Dr Panos Paris (Cardiff), the title is published by Routledge in the Routledge International Studies in the Philosophy of Education. It is available to purchase here.
