Between 16th and 18th April 2023, the MA Character Education team held a residential in Chicago for students based in the United States funded through the Kern Award. 65 students and graduates of the MA Character Education joined Jubilee Centre staff in Chicago with the generous support of the Kern Family Foundation. In addition to presentations delivered by the MA team, students learnt about the ongoing work of graduates of the programme, with nine former students delivering talks. Keynote presentations were delivered by guest speakers:
  • Dr. Angel Adams Parham, Associate Professor of Sociology & Senior Fellow and Chair of the Colloquy on Culture and Formation at the Institute for Advance Studies in Culture, University of Virginia.
  • Dr. Jennifer Frey, Associate Professor of Philosophy, University of South Carolina.

The MA team will also host a residential on campus at the University of Birmingham in winter 2023. The on campus residential will be open to all students studying on the MA Character Education programme, and further details will be announced in due course.
