Centre Manager: Aidan Thompson

Aidan is responsible for managing all administrative and operational matters for the Jubilee Centre. Aidan is responsible for developing the Centre’s strategic and operational plans, particularly regarding the impact of the Centre’s work. He is a member of the Centre’s Steering Group and plays a proactive role in all Centre activities. Aidan has managed the Jubilee Centre since it launched in 2012, and has played an instrumental role in the Centre’s growth, management and outreach. In 2016, Aidan took over responsibility of leading the 'Character and Values Amongst Marginalised Young People' research project, which will report in late 2017.

Aidan previously worked as Research Administrator to the School of Education for nearly 3 years, providing post-award support for research projects, and had an active input into the preparation for the Research Excellence Framework 2014. During this time, he has built up a wealth of knowledge on research administration, finance and other matters which have supported the School in various ways.

He has an English degree from Loughborough University and an MPhil in Literature and Modernity from the University of Birmingham. Aidan began a PhD in Education in 2017, under the title 'Educating Character Through Poetry: the role of the poem in the education of virtue literacy'.
